You will need a WordPress login with administrator access.

Add new teacher

1. Screenshot teacher's picture from Google doc. Rename screenshot to teacher's name. Upload in WP Media.

 

2. Create new Category in Posts ->Categories with Teacher's name.  Make note of the slug.

3. Create Page for the new teacher.  Add /shortcode block to the page with code ' [ic_add_posts category='NAME']', where NAME is the slug you create in step above when you created a category for the new teacher.

4. Update Teacher Researchers Page and add new teacher.  

  • Add Column Block using 30/70 option.

 

Insert Image Block on left and paragraph Block on the right. Add the teacher's picture to Image block with Select Image - Media Library.  The teacher's picture will be in the Media library.  You may need to change the image size to a thumbnail to adjust the size of the image.

Copy and paste text from google doc into Paragraph block.

Link the teacher's name in the Paragraph block and image to the teacher's page.  Get the link of the teacher's page from the Page section. View Page has the link to copy.

Make it Bold.

Add a link to the teacher's page in the image using the link icon, edit (pencil icon) and paste the url to the teacher's page.  Update the website to save the changes.

5. Final step is to send invitation to each new teacher to create a WP account.   From the Users section, Add new.  You can enter up to 10 email addresses per invitation. The email account should be trc-teacher-name.org.  The Role is 'Author'. Verify with Mark or Kim.

Delete teacher

To delete a teacher from the website, delete the image and paragraph block from the Teacher Researcher page with 'Remove block'.

Leave the teacher's page.  Change the teacher from Author to Contributor in the Users section of WP.  

Update teacher's photo or bio information.

Updating a photo: Screenshot the new photo from the google doc, rename the screenshot to the teacher's name and upload into WP using the Media options. (see detailed instructions in Add Teacher.)

Updating bio text: Copy text from google document and paste in teacher's paragraph block.

Publish website.

 

Adding a PDF

From the WordPress, upload the PDF file to the Media Library.

Go to the WordPress page where you want to display the PDF.

You can upload the file at this time.  Or if you already uploaded the file, you can select the PDF from the Media Library.  

Your PDF will be added.  Update and Publish

Adding a Google Form to a page

Create the Google form and click Send

 

From the 'Send form' screen, click on '<>' and the Embedd HTML will display.  Copy the HTML code

Close the 'Send Form' box.  Go to the WordPress Page where you want to display the Google Form. Add a Custom HTLM block (under Widgets) and paste the code.

Update the Page.  The form will now be added to the page.
