ScreenSteps Editor: Web vs. Desktop

There are two to create and edit an article in ScreenSteps: Web Editor and Desktop Editor.

Web Editor

The web editor is preferred when editing minor changes on your article. It has limited features when editing images.

  • To create a new article, click 'Create a New Article'.
  • To edit your article, click the arrow dropdown next to your article and select 'Edit on Web'.
Desktop Editor

In order for you to use the the desktop editor, you need to download and install the ScreenSteps desktop software. Click the link below for more information on how to download and install the application.

How to Download and Connect the desktop software to your account

The desktop editor is preferred when creating a new article. The advantage of using desktop editor is the added feature when working on images. You have the option to upload the image through your personal drive or screen capture tool. Also, the desktop editor has annotation tools.  

  • To create a new article, click 'File' on the task bar and select 'New Article'.
  • To edit your article, click the arrow dropdown next to your article and select 'Edit on Desktop'.
