This tutorial explains how to customize the toolbar using Microsoft Word 2011.
1. Right click on a blank section of the toolbar to locate the menu items.

2. Select the Command tab at the top. Then browse for tools you would like. In particular, you need the Select Objects Tool.

3. Drag the Select Objects tool to your toolbar.
