This tutorial explains how to set up your shareable links in Safari so that you can access up-to-date read only files easily without hassle. These links allow you to view any of the files at any time. However, you will not be able to modify the files! Other browsers work very similarly.
1. Go to View-->Show Bookmarks Bar.
Note: If you already use the bookmarks bar, skip this step.
2. Add a folder to your bookmark bar.
1. Click on Bookmark icon. 2. Highlight a position to insert. 3. Click on the '+' sign to insert a folder.
Note: Skip step 2 if this is your first time.
3. The folder will appear. Name it such as CPM Read-only Files.
Note: You can drag and drop along the bookmark bar to reposition your bookmarks if desired.
4. Note that your folder now appears on the bookmark bar.
5. Now go to any of the emails you have received from your manager with the links. Click on it.
In the example above, the Indiana Review was requested.
6. It goes to the dropbox and you will be able to click on the folders and files to either view or download to your desktop. But now you want to store the link in your bookmarks folder!
7. Add the link to your bookmark folder by clicking and dragging the blue icon directly on the folder name in the bookmark bar.
You will see a prompt for renaming the bookmark should you desire. Then click OK.
8. Now the next time you want to see the Indiana Review, click on your folder and the link will appear.
Note: Add any additional links to the same folder.
