This article describes how to use Disk Utility for the Mac. Run Disk Utility once a month to keep your machine running more smoothly.
It is in your Applications --> Utilities
- Once found, add it to your dock!
- Run it once a month!
Icons may look like any of the ones below depending on your system.

Once in Disk Utility:
- Click "First Aid" at the top.
- Click "Run"

- Select the Macintosh HD (or your drive's name).
- Verify Disk .
- Make any necessary repairs.
- Verify and Repair Disk Permissions.
