Running the Installed eBook Demo

Updated on

This article describes how to Run and Close your eBook Demo from your VirtualBox.

1. Launch Virtual Box.

  • If this is your first time, Virtual Box is already open and in your dock.  Go to step 2.
  • If this is NOT your first time, find virtual Box in your applications or on your dock if you put it there.  Double click it to open.

2. Double click eBooks Demo.

If this is your first time.  Just go to Step 1 below.  If you have opened the eBook before, you probably either saved it in a Powered off or Saved State.  Read below for the difference.

  • Powered Off state:
    • When double clicked, it will run eBooks Demo.
    • You will need a password: cpmebooks
  • Saved state:
    • When double clicked, it will restore eBooks Demo to the last place you were when you exited.
    • You will not need to put in a password.
  1. Double click 'eBooks Demo' icon or the green 'Start' button.
  2. Type in the password, cpmebooks, if running from the powered off state:
  3. Click the 'Chronium Web Browser'. (You are NOT on the internet at this point while using eBooks Demo.)

3. Close eBook Demo

  • When finished, be sure to close both the VirtualBoxVM and VirtualBox
  • Both take up a lot of memory and may adversely slow or impede your ability to use other applications on your computer.
  • Click the 'Red' buttons at the top of the applications. You will be given an option to save the state or power down.
  • Check your dock for the VirtualBox. Right click on it and 'Quit' if running.

4. Troubleshooting

  • If you get a 503 error, click the refresh button even though you are NOT really online.
