Makeup time is a custom option for CPM in Paylocity rather than a standard feature. Therefore it is not supported in their knowledge base. The procedures will need to be tested and revised.
Makeup Time Procedures for Hourly Employees and Supervisors
Employee has a two part makeup time request process:
1. Plan: The employee should talk with their supervisor to obtain oral authorization before submitting a request
2. Request: Request makeup time off through Paylocity and CPM Intranet
1. Request Type - In Paylocity, select Makeup Time from the Time Off pulldown
2. Request Dates - Use the calendar icon to indicate the date(s) you need the date you need time away
3. Include Weekends - No is the default because hourly employees are not usually scheduled to work weekends; toggle on if needed
4. Request Full Days - Yes is the default; you can toggle to no for 8 hour duration
a. You can indicate hours of leave two ways:
i. Use buttons, + or - to move by increments of 0.5
ii. To indicate a duration that is a different decimal of an hour, click in the hours box between the (-) and ( +) buttons to type the duration.
5. Comment - Enter the makeup time plan
6. Submit your makeup time off request.

This will create a missed punch on your timecard
- Do not worry.
- The missed punch will be used by your manager at shift approval time to indicate your makeup time.

a. Take breaks as needed/required.
b. When your regular shift is over do not Clock out, instead, do the next step
3. When your regular shift is over
a. Go to the Punch Screen but do not Clock Out
b. Type this note: “Starting makeup time shift”
c. Clock In again
i. This will correctly create a missed punch on your timecard.

6. Review your time card for accuracy of punch times.

If you do not enter a note or do not make Clock in punch at the start of each shift, edit your time card.
1. View recent punch activity
a. Request Add Punch and use the note/comment to indicate there is a change of work shift
OR
b. Edit an existing punch (by clicking on the ellipses button) and use the note/comment to indicate there is a change of work shift

Makeup shift worked on a day with regular work.
1. Find the punch before the missed punch
2. Right-click on the time of that punch and hold
3. Scroll down and change to Makeup Time
a. This will fill the missed punch with a Clock in
4. Save
5. If necessary, also complete a Shift Approval
