Forward Your CPM email as a Text Message

Auto-forward important mail to your phone as a text message. Set your email app to forward messages from a particular sender to your phone's SMS address automatically.

1. Determine your phone's email address
  • Your phone's SMS "address" is your 10-digit number followed by your carrier's SMS gateway. For example, to forward an email to a Verizon phone, enter "[email protected]".
  • You'll find a list of SMS gateways for dozens of phone services in the US and overseas on this Email Unlimited page.
  • Common Carriers
    • AT&T: [your number]@txt.att.net
    • MetroPCS: [your number]@mymetropcs.com
    • Nextel: [your number]@messaging.nextel.com
    • Sprint: [your number]@messaging.sprintpcs.com OR [your number]@pm.sprint.com
    • T-Mobile: [your number]@tmomail.net
    • Verizon: [your number]@vtext.com
    • Virgin Mobile: [your number]@vmobl.com
    • U.S. Cellular: [your number]@email.uscc.net
2. Add your phone's email to CPM Gmail account for forwarding.
  • Login to your CPM Gmail account by going to mail.cpm.org. (Be sure that you are in your CPM mail!)
  • Choose the gear icon in the top-right corner, click Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP, and select "Add a forwarding address."
  • As soon as you click 'Add a forwarding address', you get the screens below.  Add your phone's email address that you found from Step 1 above. Click 'Next'. Click 'Proceed". Click 'ok'.
  • Now check your phone and obtain the confirmation code that was just sent to you.
  • Add this confirmation code to the empty field shown below.  
  • Click verify.
3. Create a filter so that only cpm email is sent to your text message.
  • After step 2, your screen should look like the one below.
  • You should have your phone's email listed.  Click 'creating a filter'.
4. This is Complete. Now do a test to make sure it works!
  • Send a message to [email protected] with a subject line: Testing Forwarding CPM eMail
  • Ask support staff to reply to you with the message: This message should forward to your phone.
  • You should receive a return message within a few hours or sooner depending on the time of day.  
  • Once you get it on your phone. Congratuations!
  • If you DID receive a response in your CPM email, but NOT on your phone as a text message, then your setup did not work.
  • In that case, contact [email protected] for further help.
