Block Unwanted eMail from a Specific Sender (G-Mail Acct)

Updated on

Are you receiving unwanted emails constantly and from the same people! You can block these emails from coming to your attention by creating a filter in your email settings that will automatically send the offending email directly to your spam folder! No more having to see the same emails coming through and having to delete them!

1. Step One - Find the correct settings

In your Gmail go to the the Settings icon and double click. This is located at the top right side next to your Google Apps short cut. See below.

Click on See all Settings

Select "Filters and Blocked Addresses" from the top horizontal list of settings. See below.

2. Step Two - Make a new filter for your email

Under "Filters and Block Addresses" select Create a new filter.

When  you create a new filter, a new box will drop down with filter criteria that you may need. Example: If an email comes from a certain company with a certain subject line, you can have it filter to a specific folder by creating a filter looking for a specific subject line and company. In this case we are creating a filter to filter email from a certain company so it is deleted as soon as it hits your email so you no longer see them.

Add the email that you would like to block on the top line "From" then select Create Filter. See below.

A new box will pop up with options of what you would you like to happen to the email once it is recognized. Select Delete it then select Create Filter again.

Once you select Create filter, a list of filters will show up that are applied to all incoming mail and will look like below. At this point you have completed this task and you should not receive another email from the blocked email address. See below.
